About Ni Nyampinga

Empowering adolescent and young people to make informed choices

We are dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering young people especially adolescent girls and young women. Through gender transformative programming and social behavior change communication, Ni Nyampinga aims to provide young people, especially girls with the skills, agency, and knowledge to make informed decisions in order to reach their full potential.

Strategic Approach

Social Behavior Change Communication

Ni Nyampinga channels youth friendly messages on diverse platforms including radio talk shows, Sakwe serial drama, print magazine/booklets, digital and face to face.

What we do?

Our Activities

NN Magazine

Girls receive practical and entertaining content related to ASRHR, Nutrition, through Factual role models, Agony Aunt, Life Skills, Games, and Myths. National reach through a digital magazine on the e-learning platform. We have secured an ongoing partnership with Rwanda Basic Education Board on uploading digital content on their E-Learning platform.

Radio Talk Show

Our radio show is about Factual role models, Agony Aunt, Quiz Mu- sic. Girls, boys, and their parents can submit anonymous questions to Baza Shangazi (or Agony Aunt), which they may otherwise be too embarrassed to talk about. Younger girls often ask questions about how to deal with body changes and friendships.

Club Engagement

Clubs both in and out of school provide another platform for girls and boys to discuss key issues affecting their health and well-being and to voice their concerns. They provide a safe space for learning and discus- sion, and for friendships to blossom. We are distributing magazines and engaging girls and boys in established Ni Nyampinga clubs

Youth Participation and Engagement

Ni Nyampinga puts girls at the center of all its interventions

Our projects are developed according to the feedback we receive from girls, and are designed to provide opportunities for empowerment, growth and mutual support.
